Well it could be multi function switch or body module which would need to be scanned for codes by a mechanic.

The multi function switch (which is the light switch right?) Has been checked. Where is the body module located? Can that be done by any mechanic? Thanks for responding to my questions by the way. I do greatly appreciate it. I really need to get this fixed.

P.S, would the DRL module have anything to do with it?

If DRL module were bad a mechanic with a scanner would pick that up anyhow. Your body module is called an integration relay it's on instrument panel junction block so check for loose wires or bad connections.

You can try it, but I do not think it will work.

Hello ken,
Well HMac300 was correct in saying check the relays. The problem was the tail light relay which is very hard to get to. Top of dash had to be taken off and vent on passenger side. Apparently this is a common problem in the toyota corolla according to the mechanic but its fixed yay!
Thank you for your assist,
Dbgirl :-)
