Tail light problem

My taillights only work when pulled part way out before it clicks into position, but not after. I need to know what wire from the plug is power for the taillights so I can temporarily wire then to a toggle switch.

When I pull the switch for the taillights to come on they come on before the click of where it should be but not after it clicks and there not on with the headlights.

The reason they sell them pigtails is they get hot/melt/distort. Did you look at the plastic and contacts on the connections?
