At first, all lights rear drivers side would not work.
Took the assembly out and checked bulbs, they were okay.
Next day, the lights came on briefly but not as bright as right side. This last for ten to fifteen seconds with them fading in and out, then quit working. Took assembly out and cleaned all connection points. Did not help. Checked fuse it looked okay. Some online sights said I would have to replace entire assembly, I am wondering if a grounding or switch issue somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

Based on your description, it could be a poor ground. However, I need to know if this is a sedan or wagon. As far as replacing the entire light assembly, if it is the LED design, that is what will need done. If it is the traditional style with plug in bulbs, that is not the case.

If you can let me know the body style and the manufacturer date, it will help me determine a few different things. When you open the driver's side door, there should be a plate on the A-pillar which contains the date it was produced.

If, in general, you want to check the ground for the tail light in question, it is located on the right rear wheel housing. It is ground 51. See schematic and picture of location.

I hope this helps.

Let me know,

Take care,
Joe
