I am trying to put a tachometer into my truck. I hooked it up the way instructions say black wire to negative battery red wire to battery, voltage terminal green wire to negative side of coil do not need white wire for light. the tachometer does not work at all. I have a stock coil and stock distributor.

recheck your connections it could be a bad tachometer. also, look on back of tachometer to see if you have to switch for 4-6-8 cylinders that is usually the case and re-read instructions.
