Swollen hose

Attached a picture. Is this normal? I just replaced the lower hose. Has a new water pump and thermostat as of a year ago.

Hi Cannon,
No, that hose is not "normal" it needs to be replaced. Aside from the fact it looks like it is smuggling a tennis ball, you can see that the swelling has forced the hose clamp out of position. I've attached a picture of what a new one looks like. The upper hose is easier to replace than the lower hose, so it sounds like you are set on how to do it, but just in case, I'm adding a how-to link for your convenience.
