We thought we needed brakes for our vehicle but when it was checked turns out we still had pads so that was good. They noticed when the tire was off the brake hose had cracking, so those need to be replaced. Also, there was a loud noise which we thought might be the strut. They also saw the sway arm or sway link bushings were worn. Is that what can be causing the noise? I'm not sure if this is the right part or not. I'm putting a picture so if someone can tell me what the part is I would appreciate it. Any input would be helpful. Thank you

Can't see the picture, you know you need to replace the brake hoses, jack the car up high enough so you can see under it and the car is stable. Make sure it won't move. Move the strut arm and sway arm bushings. See if there is excessive play in them. The rubber bushings might be making the noise if the bushings are worn out.

Yes, we already bought the brake hoses, just don't know what other part I need to buy. Showed the picture to guy at AutoZone and he didn't know what it was. I added the pictures again hope that helps.

We had brake hoses replaced and sway arm link replaced. We no longer hear the knocking noise and brakes are working fine. It seems to have taken care of the problem. Thank you for your help!

Thanks for you'll help. We just had to replace the serpentine belt today. The guy who replaced the belt said it sounds like your compressor is going to go out on you. Wow that's all we needed.

Hi,

Is there a lot of noise from the compressor? Is it possible for you to record it and upload it so I can hear what it's doing?

Also, if you turn the A/C off, does the sound change?

Let me know.

When the A/C is turned off it sounds like a radio that is not on the right channel. I will try to upload the noise tomorrow. My husband says he only hears the noise when the A/C is off.

Hi,

That sounds more like it could be one of the other belt-driven accessories. Upload the recording so I can hear it.

Take care,

Joe
