Swapping lower HP engine

Can I swap lower HP engine like 1.6L or 1.3L engine in 1.8L honda civic mainly for lower fuel consumption? If possible which engine would be best for honda civic 2008 to 2010?

Hello,I'm Danny.

Unfortunately no. Due to your car being computer controlled with every aspect of your car it would not be possible.This difference in the engines would not make anything in your cars computers compatible.Just be sure to keep your car in great running shape and do the routine maintenance to keep your car running great while maintaining optimum fuel mileage/economy.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
