I have a 92 Chevy G 30 that I was having trouble out of ECU after installing a GM crate motor so I pulled the tbi off installed a Edelbrock street performer intake with a brand new Edelbrock avs2 carburetor. I didn't change fuel pump, but added a fuel pressure regulator and when I finally got it running it wouldn't run under load. So, it since the carburetor had an extra spot for an extra gas feed I hook it up has well hoping it would give the extra gas. It sounded like it needed and it still ran like crap, so I had it hauled home and decided to change fuel pump to a mechanical fuel pump when I dropped the tank to remove the fuel pump. I'm the tank it look like it had been on fire (from over working itself) now that I changed fuel pump it runs awesome sitting still but after I take off it shuts off unless then a ½ mile like it's ran out of gas.
I can't figure it out.
For notes: the street performer intake has one big hole for carburetor to sit on and the spacer I added is the same, but I think the carburetor is a quad 4 type of carburetor.

That carburetor is a single feed unit, the second fuel feed is simply to allow either side to be connected to the fuel system. Pump wise you need to check the pressure and volume that the pump is supplying at minimum 5 PSI at wide open throttle.

Then take a look at:

Seee if you can find a solution.

I just installed the motor but it's putting off extreme heat and I can't figure out why it smokes very little on the passage side. Changed radiator and water pump, I put the heads on this motor. Also, when I bought it the water passages were full of rust or whatever, I cleaned them out the best I could. What could be the problem?

Running hot would fit with a lean carburetor and timing being off. I would work on getting the carburetor straightened out first, then see if the temperatures come down. If it's been setting for a while it could simply be that the carburetor needs a rebuild and cleaning as it doesn't take a lot of corrosion to block a jet.

Still sounds like it is running lean, or you could have an exhaust issue as that would act the same way if it was blocked as the fuel wouldn't get pulled in, try dropping the pipes off the manifolds or headers and see if it runs then.
