The car listed above was built in Japan. Last night my wife started it, it made a squealing sound like a loose or slipping belt. operated as normal. This morning I go to start, and it tries to start (rrroomm, rooommm, roooom) then try again and get roooom roooooom (more space in between) but does not want to turn over.
The lights and all work fine, seems like there is voltage but, just will not complete the "explosion" process to start.

Hi,

Either the battery is faulty or needs to be recharged. Inspect the alternator belt. If I had to guess, something froze up causing the squealing you heard and either caused the belt to break or come off. As a result, the alternator isn't charging the battery.

If you have a battery charger, try recharging it. Keep in mind, the alternator belt is separate from the power steering belt. See pic below

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
