2007 Suzuki XL7 When i fill in gas my engin doest start

The check engine light came on in my Suzuki XL7 (2007) about 2 wks ago. Off and on as I am driving, an error will come up & say to tighten gas lid (I bought a new gas cap fr Autozone w a lock on it & have checked it several times & it's not loose?) .When i fill in gas my engin doesn't start 2-7 min, thenit works fine but light check engin still on.And engin work not so nice like befor.

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
