2003 Suzuki XL7 Screeching when I turn on the AC

I am wondering what the issue is with my vehicle. I took it to the repair shop initially to have my belts replaced but after that I have had nothing but issues. Recently I had someone take a look at this. I replaced belts again and for a couple of days I did not have the screeching noise but a couple of days later it came back. The same guy is stating that it is my ac compressor. Any ideas?

Sounds like the compressor is on its way out
