Since I purchased the vehicle I have had periodic problems with the car being sluggish when I press on the gas. This usually happens if I go forward after stopping at a stoplight, etc. I brought it to the service center about a year ago and they said that on theSuzuki Verona, the gas pedal is electronic or something to that effect and did something that seemed to improve it. Now all of a sudden the car RPMs will go up to 4 when I press on the gas but won't go any faster in mileage. It will rev up but not speed up. This is happening even when driving down the highway. Could this be the transmission?

Hi there,

If the engine is responding to the throttle and revving but the drive is inconsistent I would be betting the transmission inspected for a fault.
