FRONT DISC BRAKE PADS
Removal
Raise and support vehicle. Mark position of front wheel relative to wheel hub to preserve wheel balance. Remove front wheel.
Remove lower caliper sliding pin, and loosen upper caliper sliding pin. Rotate caliper upward, without disconnecting flexible brake line from caliper.
Remove brake pads. Measure pad thickness. Replace pads if not within specification. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS.
Installation
If new pads are installed, use syringe to remove some brake fluid from reservoir. Using appropriate tool, push in caliper piston. Install pads.
Pull caliper downward, without damaging piston dust seal. Install lower caliper sliding pin. Tighten caliper sliding pins. Align marks during wheel removal and install front wheel. Tighten wheel lug nuts.
FRONT ROTOR
Removal & Installation
Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels. Remove caliper assembly, and wire aside. See FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER. Mount dial indicator and check rotor runout before removal. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS.
Remove rotor detent screw, and pull rotor from hub. To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply thread-locking compound to caliper bracket mounting bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
