I have 2000 suzuki vatara I just had a timing chain replace and a value also. When I got the car back the heater works intill I get on the high way going 65 plus all I get cold air. I replace the thermostate and that wasnt the problem and played with the air vents they seem to be ok. Does anybody have a any idea what this could be. Thanks.

Check the heater control valve ensuring that it is opening up fully.

Hello, I looked in my manual and didn't see anything on control valve. So my question would be where is the control valve? Also I forgot to say the tempurture gauge goes down to cold only when I get on the high way going 65 plus. Besides that the heat works fine in the city driving. Of course I travel on the highway every morning. If you can help please I would appreciate it. Thanks, Alot.

First of all thanks alot. I fixed it.(Heat) know I would like to fix the temperature gauge its doing the same thing sone as I get on the highway going 65 plus the gauge goes down to cold. Or if the car is warmed up and I have it stationary and press my foot on the gas in high idle the temp gauge goes down to cold. Thanks.

Have you fixed your heater problem? How do you fixed? I think if your temperature gauge goes down you may still having problems with your heater.

I think heater was not working because the heater control valve is blocking water circulation thru the heater radiator or because for some other reason the water is cold.

If your heater works fine on city but not on highway and your temperature gauge goes down to cold when you press the gas in high idle it seems like you are running without thermostat.
