just need to know when to replace a timing chain, and should it require maintenance if it doesn't need replacing? My engine is a bit noisy.

Hi tamara lawson,

The is no scheduled timing chain replacement. If and when the chain becomes noisy, it is time to replace it. It is a maintenence free item.

Usually a bad timing chain would rattle loudly when starting from cold and the noise would lessen once the oil pressure in engine builds up.
