1996 Other Suzuki Models Clutch

My sidekick was having shifting problems. It did not go into reverse unless I shifted into first, then let it roll back. Then it would shift into reverse.

Though sometimes the stick shift would chatter and not go into reverse.

So I had a new clutch, clutch cable and adjuster installed. That was just last week. Now the same thing is happening all over again. What could the problem be?
