1995 Other Suzuki Models Front Wheel Drive Automatic 385000 miles

hi , i have a 1995 suzuki swift 1000cc engine. i have 2 major problems.1 i just recently service it but my car is still burning my gas. 2 my transmission is not changing into gear sometimes. could this be the reason for my car to burn gas so bad?

have the trabsnission checked at a good trans shop
