Replaced ground wire on alternator and it blew the 60 am fuse. Any ideas?

Double check you are grounding the correct wire !

What ground there is only a case ground.
Or are you plugging in the rear small connector.
Id say, the alternator is shorted inside.
Id remove it take it to any parts store to be tested.
Then buy a fuse after test passes.
