My engine keeps dying. The pickup coil was replaced twice. Mechanics at a loss as to why pickup coil died twice, but reset timing on it. Told me to drive and see how it drives. Car engine light came on last night. Then car started to lose power. Quickly got off at exit, and car died as I went around corner. Lucky coasted into parking space. Waited 5 min. Car started again. Check engine light still on. Took back to mechanic expecting pickup coil again. But told "good news" now it's the EGR vacuum selenoid valve. But that's not so good to hear. Now I have two problems. Can an EGR valve cause a car to die while driving? Why would a pick-up coil keep being burnt out? And could changing the timing solve the problem for the pick-up coil? Thanks for your feedback:)

We would need full model details to inspect the diagrams of your engine performance systems to assist in this matter !

Ok I will assume (sigh)
that it is a 1992 suzuki sidekick.
Next we need to know what motor.
8v valves or 16v, big diffr.

On 92 era kicks (my specialty)
the motor has a spark coil and a Distributor CMP coil.
Actually a sensor

yes a bad CMP sensor will kill all spark, or be intermittant.
Yes, a stuck open EGR will in fact stall a car.

If you need exact answers, you need only state what your problems are and the exact car you are driving.

I wish the form put the suzuki's in the proper generation.

1989-1989 Trackers and Sidekicks.
All these years have similar parts and problems.
