Car stopped when turning into service station, triple a towed it home. Car towed to mechanic in area who stated it probaly was a broken timing belt. Then stated when I came that belt was not broken. That I had knicks on my engine head. Can you see the engine or do you take it out to see knicks. After car there it only took them 1-1/2 hours to check this.I thought it was ignition switch causing ticking noise. Please help me, I find it hard to beleive you can check an engine in so short a time and want $700-$800 to repair it.

Hi there,

This so called mechanic is having you on, it takes a few minutes to check the timing belt and the nicks in the head is just so much rubbish, tow it out of there and find a mechanic who cares about you and your car.
