Why does my car go into one gear when I turn the headlights on at night? I have to drive with them off at night and it runs good, but when I turn the headlights on, the overdrive light flashes on and off and the car will just stay in one gear.

have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to check for transmission related fault codes ..
