2003 Suzuki Alto engine over heated

my car run for 1 hour without cooling water in radiator and stopped ( I did not noticed it thermostat switch of radiator fan is not working hence fan). i took to repair it . they changed head gasket and lapped the head, coolant holes in head. changed new dummies for coolant holes in head. I took back to home within one hour self motor thermostat switch gone. I replaced it. again next day engine is not starting something problem with spark ignition coils. what will happen to all other parts in engine if engine heats up more than the rated value. and what parts will effect if engine over heats up.
