Wondering if I need my strut and coils replaced or can I just have my coil replaced? Because it was rubbing my tires but struts still look okay but coils look rusted.

Good morning,

It would make better sense to replace the entire unit. They call it a quick strut that contains everything.

The tire should never rub the tire unless something is broken.

I attached pictures and the parts from rock auto for you to view

Strut Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Notice: Use care when handling the coil springs in order to avoid chipping or scratching the coating. Damage to the coating will result in premature failure of the coil springs.

1. Remove the strut mount retaining bolts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Vehicle Lifting > Procedures > Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle).
3. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Wheels and Tires > Removal and Replacement > Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation).

4. Disconnect the ABS front wheel speed sensor harness connector.
5. If applicable, remove the speed sensor bracket from the strut.

Notice: The knuckle must be retained after the strut-to-knuckle bolts have been removed. Failure to observe this may cause ball joint and/or wheel drive shaft damage.

6. Remove the brake line bracket from the strut on the left side.

7. Remove the strut to knuckle bolts (3) and the nuts (1).
8. Remove the strut from the vehicle.

Okay, so will the quick strut have mount coil attached as well? Because I believe that it was the main reason due to rust that it started to collapse. What other parts would you suggest that I will need in order to have it installed?

Yes, it is a complete assembly. You just remove one and install one.

The only thing I would do additional is to have the alignment checked.

Also, do I need to change control arms and tire rods when I have struts put in?

No, not at all. Just the strut assemblies.
