Hello, I have been watching the summit LM7 build series. I have an LM7 that I am swapping into my 70. Question, can I use that cool Summit intake like you used but keep the stock water pump? Will the neck coming out the top be in the way?

Hey!

Thanks so much for watching the series! I do not think you can use the water pump type that comes up out of the top of the pump. However, a water pump swap is a really easy thing and then you can have that super cool intake.

Thanks for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan

Thanks for the reply! Would that summit intake be a good choice for a daily driver, or should I just stick with the stock intake? Would there be any noticeable performance loss or is that just the price to pay to look cool? I've heard some people mention that the cool looking intake such as the Holley ones are really meant for boosted application not naturally aspirated daily driving?

Also, the injectors you used in the build series, is Delphi Micropack the same connector as Multec 2? Will the 44 lbs/hr be good for 60 PSI fuel pressure?

I noticed you haven't been recontacted in three days. I will forward this post to Ryan for you to make sure he gets it.

If you don't hear from him in a day or two, let me know.

Take care and thanks for your interest.

Hey!

Sorry it took me a few days to respond, I have been out of my office.

Honestly, the stock intake is pretty great if yours is in good shape. I have the aftermarket one because it looks cool and my original one was junk. Not sure there is any performance gain with an aftermarket intake, if there is it is quite minimal.

I would not use the injectors we used in the build due to some packaging errors and O-ring discrepancies that threw a lot of my viewers for a loop. The stock injectors work great and are good for something like 600 horsepower.

Best,
Ryan
