It cranks but won't start. Replaced fuel pump and filter, ignition module, MAP 02 sensor, plugs and wires. I'm getting code 43. Electronic spark control. My boyfriend says he replaced it too.
We got it to start but it shuts off when you give it gas. I saw you had the trouble tree for code 43. Could you send me a copy? And should we test/replace knock sensors. Thank you

Hi,

No problem. There are two different diagnostics provided. One is if the vehicle has an electric shift transmission and the other is not electric.

I attached the diagnostics below for both. I'm not sure which you have. The first five pics are the non-electric shift. The last three pics are for the 4L60E electronic transmission.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe

See pics below. Note: The diagnostic tree is cut in two to make it readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next. Also, I don't think the knock sensor would prevent it from running.

Thank you for the info. The previous codes I got were lean exhaust, map voltage and fuel pump pressure. He said the knock sensors rotted off some time ago. He doesn't know how to treat such a great invention- me and the automobile.
