Sudden transmission slippage in all gears?

After about 8mi of driving from a cold start, the transmission will start abruptly slipping in all gears, even in low range 4wheel dr. I changed the oil about 4,000 miles back with highi mileage type. What is the problem?

The first thing we should do is check the fluid level, and if it's okay change out the fluid filter if you have not done it in the transmission fluid service. Here is a generic guide to help you step by step with instructions in the diagrams below to show you how on your car:
