I was told by a mechanic at my dealership that the rear driverside strut is cracked. How serious is this and how quickly should it be replaced?

This will affect the suspension system considerably. The spring with be taking more of the load and the car will feel more bouncy in that corner. This should be replaced as soon as possible and until then just take it east and drive safe.
