In extreme wet weather I have trouble starting my car. The car hesitates and there is a foul smell. Then the check engine llight comes on. The only response I get from subaru dealer machanic is to reset the computer. Why does this happen in extreme wet weather?

Hi there,

I would be thinking that there is a problem with the weather proofing on a sensor plug, moisture can up set the reading buy causing a hight resistance through the pin connectors, before the codes are cleared you need to get the code ID, this will be a good indication as to which sensor may be at fault.
