2002 Subaru Outback parking lights

I flushed my radiator and got my car witerized today. I have never done this myself and the online tips suggested that I disconnect the negative battery cable first. My car is running fine, but now when I turn the car off, the parking lights stay on...I have to disconnect the negative battery cable so my battery doesn't run down.

Flip the switch on top of the steering column. Its right behind the steering wheel.
