2002 Subaru Outback Humming

recently I am periodically hearing a humming nosie for about 3 seconds. The hummming noise appears to be coming from the engine in front of the drivers side. The car still operates good but I keep hear at times a long humming (low) noise????

Usual suspects are ABS pump, and or Air compressor if it has an air ride suspension.
