1999 Subaru Outback Cant get it out of park.

Once I start the car and step on the break, I cannot get the car to shift into gear. There is also a problem that we think is connected where the break lights and blinkers in the back won't work. I already replaced the stop relay sensor in the console and still am having the problem

Check to see if the linkage from your shifter to the side of the transmission.
