Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Subaru Outback All Wheel Drive 157,00 miles

My Subaru outback just blew it's timing belt and the engine is toast. Is this car worth putting a new engine in? It has 157,000 miles and has otherwise run well. An engine installed has been quoted at $2700. Is it worth it?

I would shop around on that price. However if you elect to have a used engine installed I would have the timing belt and water pump replaced.
