PARKING LIGHTS WILL NOT CUT OFF UNLESS YOU KILL BATTERY JUST STARTED

make sure the positioning light switch is turned off. Do the rest of the lights work ok?

There is a switch on top of the sterring column that turns the parking lights on and can only be turned off via this switch (unless you disconnect the battery). Is this switch turned on?
