[quote]p0301 p0302 i know what the codes are misfire 1& 3. P0302 is for cylinder #2, so are you misfiring at cylinder 3 or cylinder 2?

i checked exhaust no leaks i checked for intake leaks didnt find any the engine misfire on 1& 3 clys i erased the codes and it didnt come back over 600 miles but no 1 misfired after engine ran rough with no power and than the car wouldnt go so i checked the fuel pressure it readed 24 lbs with hose connected and 24 lbs with disconnected no change i think the misfiring might be caused by the engine hesitating and loss of power when you step on the gas and it would go what do you think thanks

If you look at step 5 for code P0170, if the fuel pressure is too low (disconnected), problem is within improper fuel pump discharge or clogged fuel supply line. So, before you spend money replacing the fuel pump, I would make sure that the line from the fuel pump to fuel filter is not clogged.

Subaru does not provide any info for catalyst readiness. I have no way to tell you how long it will take. You may need to go to your state's DMV, and request for extension. I know CA and UT will give you extension (2 weeks) providing that you pay for the tag plus $10, I would imagine that other states will have similar program.

this is the first time for this code i check the exhaust
for leaks no leaks up front-- but have one after catalyst convertor at the flange on the pipe side down stream--- could this have set off this code--- the car was running fine for 2 weeks ?..i. am going to change the pipe today

That exhaust leak may have caused the code to come on.

I am now leaning towards possible bad converters. Especially after the exhaust pipe replacement, you may have to go to a exhaust/muffler specialist (such as Midas) and have them diagnose the code, prior to replacing the cat converters. As the damage was after the rear cat, Subaru recommends replacing both converters. I do not have any explanation for that.
