removal and replacement of a heater core?

Looking for a little how to for removal and replacement of a heater core - my dad (retired mechanic) will have the basics but we are looking for any advise on what needs to be done (especially removal) to make the process smoother.

You are lucky because the heater core case is separate from the AC evaporator so the AC system does not need to be discharged and recharged. Here is how the job is done. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
