Hello,
My wife and two children were driving home in our 1996 subaru outback and the battery light on the dash went on and the steering became very hard to turn. Also, a clanking noise in the front of the car when at a stop sign. The car starts though...this seems very strange to me. this is the only car we have...i just got laid-off of work, so we are in a hardship. can you help me identify the problem...could it be a battery going bad???
thanks, John and family...email: cwolfchaz@optonline.net

Hi there,

Check that you have not broken a drive belt, this is all it may be, look and report back.
