Noises problem
1996 Subaru Outback All Wheel Drive Manual 131000 miles

My outback drives great, but recently I have noticed a light clacking sound when I make turns, it sounds like it is coming from my front left tire area. I do not hear it unless I am turning (right OR left.) The last time I had my car repaired I believe I got "taken" by the mechanic because I do not know alot about cars. I would like to feel a little better prepared for what might be wrong with the car before I take it in. Any guesses?

Hi there,

This knocking on turns is normally a worn CV joint in the drive shaft, it won't make any noise in the straight ahead position , but will knock while on a turn.
