Transmission bucking when car is cold

2005 Subaru Forester with 10,000 miles. During the cold winter months, if we don't let the car warm up, for the first 5 minutes of driving, the transmission bucks while the car is down shifting. It happens between 1000 and 1500 RPM's. We brought it to the dealership, but of course the temperature outside never dipped below 45 and the transmission was fine. Any idea how serious the problem is?

I've had problems with my '99 legacy tranny and here is some info I found thru my research. Although I thought it was only '99-'01 subys, the 4 spd. Auto trannies in these cars are equipped with an automatic transmission temperature sensor. When it is cold this sensor will not allow the tranny to shift up. (This article only mentioned shifting up and only into 4th gear?)

The article went on to say that this is normal operation, despite the less than normal feel, and that there is nothing wrong and once the tranny fluid warms up it should operate normally.
