Stalls at stops

I really hope you can help! I have a 1997 Subaru Outback with 130,000 miles. When sitting idle, slowing to a stop, making a slow turn or when starting to accelerate from a stop, it often sputters, hesitates and is now stalling more often. The check engine light does not come on and it is easy to restart. It seems to happen in the hot weather, as it was a problem last summer, then was fine in the winter and is now a big problem again. I have tried driving without the ac or radio on, and it doesn't make a difference.

I had the same the problem. I resolved it by checking and replacing the fuel filter. Also, change up on the brand of gas. Finally, seeing if there is an Idle Air Control Sensor that needs to to replaced.

Car is fine in cooler weather. On a hot day sometimes it also splutters while driving like it is about to stall (at various speeds or at idle) and you can pump the gas pedal and it will do nothing then all of a sudden go back to normal - (sometimes it stalls sometimes it doesnt)
it is giving no error codes and no check engine light. Mechanic has tried cleaning IAC, replaced AFM, new plugs, and checked spark.
Mechanic says he is pretty sure previous owner has replaced fuel pump with a better 1 (he said he can tell by the sound when ignition is first turned).
I have ordered in a fuel pump relay and have a new fuel filter which I will put in and try. Any other suggestions? I will let you know how it goes but if any1 can help in the meantime it would be much appreciated.
Im in Australia and its looking to be a hot summer

Ok tried fuel pump relay and fuel filter- no good problem still there. Took it in to have pressure tests done which came back fine. Mechanics after (3 days and a big bill) said they are pretty sure it was loose wiring to the ECU which they say they have taken out, tightened and reconnected. Im not convinced and am waiting for a warm day to see ?
