low beam headlights dim

I have a 2005 subaru legacy sedan.After having low beam lights burn out I changed bulbs which I got from dealer and my low beams were terribly dim.Then I bought xenon bulbs on dealers suggestion and still have terribly dim low beams.They were fine until I changed bulbs.High beams are still fine too .Please help.nilage is 75000 kms.
