Cost of repair

I have a 1997 subaru legacy gt 2.5L. I need ahead gasket repair and am wondering about the cost. I called the local subaru dealership and they gave me an insanely high estimate. My car has 148000 miles. THANKS!

Prices vary from garage to garage. On a 2.5 engine it has 16 valves and takes more time to do the repair
check around for a garage that has worked on that
kind of engine. Subaru dealerships are rather pricey so look around for a decent garage. It could same you a bit of money
