The other day I was changing my oil and my oil pan crack right near the bolt drain.

My first question. Is there a sealant I can use to fix it temporarliy until I can get new oil pan? I was told that JB Weld might work.

2. Is it better to have the dealership replace the oil pan or is it something that I can do with out messing it up?

JB Weld should work but the area has to be clean. New oil pan is usually a simple task but see if you can get the manual for you car just to be sure. Might be able to find a Haynes or Chilton manual at your library if not your local auto parts store.

See my response for the oil pan on the legacy for replacement - don't attempt if you don't have an engine lift.
