I have a '94 Subaru Legacy L, FWD AT at about 160,000 miles. Last night the battery light came on after I started it up and eventually I lost all power, starting with the lights dimming then the clock flashing. It started up fine and still turns over (it doesn't just click) but won't fire.
I replaced the battery about three years ago and the belts were replaced around 125,000 miles. Other than the battery, the only problem I've had with the car was a short in the wiring for the lights (running lights and brake lights worked, but no tail lights or corner lights).
I had the car towed to the only dealer with an open lot–a Dodge dealer across the street from the Subaru dealer. Should I be concerned about anything other than the alternator, and how much should I expect the repairs to cost me?
