Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Subaru Legacy 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 85.000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I went to change the spark plug wires on my Legacy wagon and found each well filled with oil ABOVE the spark plug.

I'm assuming that the valve cover gaskets are leaking - if so, how much should a dealer charge to fix this? Is it also possible - or likely - that the head gasket is also leaking?

What caused this at such low mileage? Is it likely that once fixed it will happen again?

Thanks.

Looks like the gasket is about $20 and the labor guide calls for 1.3 hrs to change valve cover gasket. This should take care of th eproblem. The factory torque spec may have been too little to keep it tight over time, dont worry too much about it happening again
