2003 Subaru Legacy Engine runs poorly

I have a 2003 Legacy, it is runnning like it has a miss a,d seems to be knocking. I had a trouble code for misfires on cylinders 1 and 3. I replaced the plugs and wires, pulled out the injectors and checked them. It still has a miss and the engine sounds like it has a knock? Could this be a timing belt issue?

Hi Paul,

Not likely to be the timing belt.

Don't know what knock is present, it could be the valves or conrod bearings depending on source of it.
