Warranty problem
2001 Subaru Legacy 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 157K miles

The local Subaru dealer replaced 2001 Legacy catalytic convertor in 2005 with free of charge due to warranty at the time. It was 90K miles.

My car now has P0420 code which is catalytic convertor issue. I brought the car in this morning to the same local Subaru dealer whom told me that they warranty parts for 12 months. Are they correct? If not, whom should I contact to get it resolve. My car is due to inspection.

I thought all (original and second) catalytic convertor is warranty for either 8 years or 88,000 mile.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The manufactures warranty will be be spelt out in your owners hand book, i would be thinking that there will be only 12 months on this converter, but the final word on this matter will rest with Subaru.
