Have you noticed any leaks or spots where you park it? Is there any blue smoke from the exhaust?

The 2.2L are known for head gasket problems. Check around the heads and make sure there are no leaks there.

Let me know what you find.

I think you are burning it. The blue smoke at start tells me that it is. After you start running it, it is still burning oil, but you can't see it because of the converter.
