I spoke to the Subaru dealer service department. It ended up being that the car was flooded. Apparently, these vehicles have a fuel shut-off in the event the car becomes flooded. The remedy was to start the car and keep it running by holding the gas at a low idle until the flood is gone, at which point the car will take over and stay running. It took roughly about 10 minutes and the car revved a bit on its own and stayed running after that. Thanks for responding and I hope my solution helps others! Good luck!
