1997 Subaru Legacy brake pads size

I need new brake pads but cant find the right size at any auto parts store. If I have 16" wheels would I be able to put a 14" or 15" brake pads on them?

Hi there,

you car will only accept the correct pad to suit your make and model, if the parts shop cant get them get them from a dealer, don't try and make something fit as this is just not possible.

Sounds like you have aftermarket rims.

Look on the door jam for the sticker that shows the original wheel size, probably 15"

You can call the dealer with your vin and they can tell you the original size.

The other option is to buy both sizes and return the ones that were not correct
