Brakes problem
1996 Subaru Legacy 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

My wife just got a 96 subaru outaback from a friend and when I drove it home it began to shake with the steeringwheel shakeing. When I got home the drivers side brakes felt hot and smelt like they where burning up. I checked the shoes and they looked like they still had some life left in them. Is it the brake line or do i need to rebuilt the caliphers? the car has over 200,000 miles on it so probabley all of the above. Could it be something else besides the brake system?

it could be your calipers but it could also be a wheel bearing or a ball joint, if the pads still have life in them then thats not the problem your rotars may need turned also
